Information Technology Services has embarked on a formidable endeavor for the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year: To ensure that every school in Miami-Dade County Public Schools is represented in the School Mobile App (SMA). The SMA will appear on the home page of the already popular Dadeschools Mobile App. Parents and students will only see the SMA school icon of the school(s) that their child is attending.
Initially, the SMA will provide simple features and information (e.g., About Us, School News, School Calendar, and Contact Us). Over time, however, it will grow and offer more functionality and features.
Each school will need to design a school icon for their school. The school icon (like a business brand) will represent the school uniquely on the home page of the Dadeschools Mobile App. See examples below using John A. Ferguson Senior, Leewood K-8, and Springview Elementary.
In order for your school icon to be approved and published, you must adhere to the following requirements.
Technical Specifications (see icon examples on this page)
Download the file below called "school_icon-grid_template-1024.png” It contains a grid template to create your school icon. Make sure to turn off the grid layer before saving the file as a PNG.
DownloadBelow are three points to keep in mind as you think about your school icon:
{{vm.value}}%
{{schlInf.id}}
{{schlInf.name | limitTo: 20}}...
